ORIX Foundation was one of many recipients recognized at Rainbow Days’ 2016 Promise Awards reception, held on February 16 at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. The Foundation was named ‘Outstanding Foundation’ for its volunteer efforts and funding support, totaling $72,500 over the past five years.
Foundation board member Tonya Moore, who also serves on the board of directors at Rainbow Days, said, “The work done by Rainbow Days changes the trajectory of children’s lives – teaching them positive ways to cope with the overwhelming emotions that come with living in adverse situations. By reaching the children at a young age, Rainbow Days helps break the generational cycle of poverty, addiction, teenage pregnancy and domestic abuse.”
Investing in these children aligns with ORIX Foundation’s mission to strengthen our community by improving the quality of life for children and their families. Over the past 30 years, Rainbow Days has served nearly 180,000 children in the Dallas community. In addition, they have influenced state and nationwide training efforts and prevention programs through the Trans4m Center and their nationally recognized Curriculum-Based Support Groups®.
“The Rainbow Days’ Promise Award is a tremendous honor for our Foundation. As one of our core areas of focus, helping at-risk children in our community is a passion for so many ORIX employees,” said Carol Greene, Foundation Director. “We value the work Rainbow Days is doing in our community and the success they are having in creating greater opportunities for the children and families they serve.”
