Members from the ORIX Foundation attended the popular Community Partners of Dallas ChickLit Luncheon in late April where Foundation Director Joshua Mayfield proudly accepted the Partners for Children Award.
Known as “Dallas’ Most Fabulous and Fun Luncheon,” the event featured keynote speaker Stacey Ballis, author of Recipe for Disaster, Off the Menu and Out to Lunch. The Community Partners of Dallas’ (CPD) Partners for Children Award celebrates an individual, company or foundation with tremendous commitment to the philanthropic needs of the community and continued service to meeting the needs of abused and neglected children.
The ORIX Foundation and CPD partnership is led by Nicola Hobeiche, Director and Assistant General Counsel for ORIX Americas and a board member of both ORIX Foundation and CPD. In addition to financial support of CPD, several ORIX employees volunteer at CPD drives, including fulfilling Christmas wishes, making Easter baskets and putting together back-to-school backpacks.
“Since we first aligned with Community Partners of Dallas, we knew our relationship would be special,” said Joshua Mayfield, Executive Vice President and Director of ORIX Foundation. “Both organizations focus on improving the well-being of children, and it’s been an incredible experience for all of our employees as they work along CPD’s side to support children in our community.”
Community Partners of Dallas (CPD) is dedicated to ensuring safety and restoring dignity and hope to abused and neglected children by providing resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services. CPD has served more than 20,000 children through programs funded in part by Chick Lit in the last year alone.
