Last month, a few dozen ORIX employees got an inside look at some of ORIX Foundation’s partner charities and walked away motivated to serve. The ORIX Foundation hosted bus tour on June 25 made stops at Jubilee Park, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and The Stewpot, ending the day with a happy hour at Café Momentum.
“I was inspired to be introduced to such worthy causes,” said Rebecca Short, Audit Manager for ORIX USA. “I really enjoyed seeing how ORIX Foundation is partnering with organizations to make a meaningful impact in so many people’s lives. It’s amazing how much these charities do!”
ORIX Foundation has given more than $155,000 to The Stewpot since 2011 and several employees donate their time serving food to the homeless. The Foundation has also supported Jubilee Park with $20,000 and the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center with $15,000 in grants over the past two years.
“The bus tour was eye-opening for all of us,” said Joshua Mayfield, president and director for the ORIX Foundation and managing director of ORIX Energy Capital “The tour provided a more intimate view of what we do, but also gave ORIX employees a chance to connect with these charities and learn about how they can get involved at a personal level. ”
With so much positive feedback on the bus tour, ORIX Foundation will be planning another tour within the year featuring stops at more partner charities. Stay posted on how to join the next event and get a closer look at how ORIX is making a difference in the lives of children, families and veterans in North Texas.
