This December, ORIX Foundation volunteers continue to receive joy from our relationship with Community Partners of Dallas (CPD). In addition to spending a day at CPD preparing packages to fulfill children’s wishes, we learned that CPD selected ORIX Foundation as its 2015 Partners for Children Award recipient.
The Partners for Children Award celebrates an individual, company or foundation with tremendous commitment to the philanthropic needs of the community and continued service to meeting the needs of abused and neglected children. The award presentation will be made this spring at CPD’s Annual Chick Lit Luncheon.
“We have a special bond with ORIX Foundation and its volunteers,” said Joanna Clarke, Vice President of Development for Community Partners of Dallas. “Not only do we appreciate the generous grants they have given us the past few years, ORIX Americas employees are an incredibly caring group of volunteers who are passionate about our organization and helping the children we serve.”
Since 2013, ORIX Foundation has supported CPD’s mission to ensure safety, restore dignity and inspire hope for the abused and neglected children served by Dallas County Child Protective Services. The Foundation has contributed $165,000 to Community Partners of Dallas during fiscal years 2013 to 2015. Most recently, our employees fulfilled 100 Christmas wishes during the CPD Toy Drive, the total value of which was matched by the Foundation. Additionally, 22 of our employees volunteered their time to sort and organize the gifts for the children.
“When we first learned about Community Partners of Dallas, we knew right away it was an obvious match for our focus of improving the well-being of families and children in particular,” said Nicola Hobeiche, Director and Assistant General Counsel for ORIX Americas and board member for both ORIX Foundation and Community Partners of Dallas. “CPD is a grass roots charity that helps more than 20,000 abused and neglected children in Dallas County annually. It is uplifting to see how much they have grown and how successfully they’ve been tackling this need in Dallas.”
As a board member for both organizations, Hobeiche leads volunteer efforts on CPD’s behalf. She and other employees volunteer at several CPD drives, including fulfilling Christmas wishes, making Easter baskets and putting together back to school backpacks. This year, CPD has seen an increased need for these children.
“I was blown away by the number of employees who volunteered their time to put together the children’s holiday wishes,” said Hobeiche. “It gave us such joy to assemble the special packages that mean so much to these children.”
ORIX Foundation will receive the Partners for Children Award at the 2015 Chick Lit Luncheon on April 24 at the Brook Hollow Golf Club featuring author Stacey Ballis.
